Nothing Fancy

I insist to have communications with bride-to-be before their wedding, all my wedded clients knew, I would keep bugging you if you didn’t reply me. ò_ó

I apprecaite those clients who trust my taste, but each bride has her own character and expectations, although we had trial before, I love to learn you more through your wedding theme, outfits…etc.
So that I can have more preparation, to design different Flower of Magic headpieces, different hairstyles to each of you in your wedding.

Loretta’s first request is “nothing fancy”;
second is “volume fringe”.

So I suggested to change the style of fringe between most different gowns, save more time for photoshooting with guests and enjoy the day;
also to keep our styling theme that day – simple.

Not cold as we expect, beautiful scene and weather!

Goodbye November

11月向來是我工作的旺季，抖暑時已作好各心理生理準備，迎接秋冬的來臨，年年如是。
如果是閒閒的過着，反而要擔心。

2011的11月，實在是非常的11月，這個月，
我的肺吸了3支hair spray;
2包雙眼皮膠紙；
十雙手指算不盡的weddings及outdoor pre-wedding photoshootings;
當中還加插了雜誌拍攝；
走了兩次台北；
每星期最少兩晚的教學；
試妝開會；
還有因盛情難推而不得不接的序稿邀請…

人生第一次感受到因極累的失眠，全身酸痛但不能入睡。

刮沙後的慘況（可能會令人情緒不安）：
加上連化妝箱也扺受不住我的勞役，伴我十多個寒冬的第一個化妝箱榮休了；
也特意換一個較輕及較細的，段鍊自的的收納功外，希望我的肩頸好過一點：
終於，一個晨光job後，竟有機會與徒弟仔嘆早餐，這餐，是一星期來可以正式於餐桌上品嘗的一頓！多溫暖，多滿足！
另外，由於試妝已排得超滿，若晚上時段的要排至2012了，請準新人多多包涵，謝謝你們的耐心等待！
也特別感謝無試妝就下訂的粉絲客人們，你們對我的信心及信任，致無言感激。

幸好，過去了，11月，再見了。

(但還有12月，1月…)

 

Change ≠ Pretty

Seems this October is a month of beauty.
Beautiful brides like Miss HK, even bridesmaids are pretty like models;
can’t image the typhoon  last week didn’t bring us rain or storm,  we got sunshine with blue sky the whole weekend.

My beautiful bride yesterday, Jacqueline, asked me an unusual question, that I always support:
“Gracy, is it a must to change hairstyle/makeup for each gowns?
I love that hairstyle so much, can I keep it till the end of the day?”

Why not?!
Change less, more photos, more food, more enjoyment with friends, more fun!
That’s why to hold a wedding.
Your guests attend the wedding that they want to celebrate with you, not for you.

We didn’t spend much time in the styles changing, instead, Jacq and Wang took a lot of nice photos with their friends.  I witnessed many touching moments.  I’m sure Mr & Mrs Tse, their pretty bridesmaids & the naughty ushers, all guests and even myself, all enjoy the night very much.

Our signature dish – FOM

I knew Karen for more than a year since the trial, although we keep communicate throughout the year, I’m flattered that her final instruction before the wedding is:
“I studied your blog for long time, trust you!”

Karen is a teacher with long working hours, she will do anything to fight for 3 more minutes sleeping time.  I know her, in the wedding, she wants to be somebody not anybody.

You spend 3k more on the wedding gowns may not wow your guests;
even spend 10k more on the reception decoration may not impress enough,
but our signature FOM will do.
The most important is, we provide all of our brides at free!

One of the satisfaction being a bridal makeup stylist is making real friends with clients.  I always meet old clients in new clients’ weddings.

Ann is Juan’s sixth (or seventh?! difficult to count…) referral, I even recognize few bridesmaids that met years before.  It is a pleasure to work with a group of familiar friends, it’s so smooth, efficient and fun.  Thanks gorgeous, you made me forget I was very tired after a full day job.

Mrs Cheng finally

Knew Clara for years, she’s not only one of my nice clients – Kenis’ best friend, I’m her appointed makeup artists for years.

是否我開始老了？ 受不了近年80後一輩的客人，有代溝…

遲到， no show，
強詞奪理，橫行霸道，死纏爛打，
指鹿為馬，踐踏合約精神…

或可以簡單的說：“無品”！

尤其我的價目及收費方法向來公開（也無懼引來competitors的抄襲！），
合則來，不合則去！
超高的透明度也是為了保障雙方的權利。

面對客人與市場轉變，一直抱住見招拆招的態度：
避免客人no show，我們就設預付試妝費政策；但原來在她們眼中，“大那那”幾百完的試妝費並不是錢，no show就是no show!
避免客人抱怨我們没有交待清楚細節，我們就雙方簽紙為證；但她卻說白紙黑字也不能代表什麼，還“恐嚇”要投訴到消委會！請便！
所以近年已開始少接non-referral的新客，
或“正常人”一旦發現她有“病”，就會請她過主。

所以別以為做“老細”無需受氣；
別以為做結婚行業一定是面對“開心的人”“開心的事”，
一肚一肚的氣，有留意這個blog的你也跟我分享不少了。

與舊客茶敍時，有時也會流露心淡之意，她們竟鼓勵我千萬不要被無誠意的客人打倒，
要放眼一直默默支持我的好客人。
